Weekly Clippings: Holy Week Edition

With Holy Week nearing its end and we approach the Easter Vigil and Easter Day, I pray that you have had a good week and will have a happy, blessed Easter. With a busy week at both work and church, I didn’t have much time to read the Catholic web. So the Clippings are very abbreviated this week.

Pope Francis celebrated his first “Way of the Cross” as the Bishop of Rome on Friday. Rome reports has a recap (below), or if you would like to see the whole event, News.va has full video of it, here.

In case you don’t know, in Rome this procession leads to the Colosseum, a beautiful symbol of how the Cross of Christ has conquered even the place where His followers were once murdered for entertainment.

Finally, tonight is the Easter Vigil, and around the world thousands will be received into the Church. Please remember all of these brothers and sisters as they take the next step on their faith journey.

On a personal note, I’d like to offer my prayers to all of you, especially those who are entering the Church at The Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Oklahoma City that I have had the honor to work with for the last nine months.
